I am just going to confess right now...I love making Liam's baby food. I don't know if the satisfaction I get is because I am making something for him or if it's because I know how healthy it is and that there's no preservatives or chemicals in it, but I love to do it! It is however getting a little trickier as we are in a gray zone of what Liam can or can't do.
Liam can have lots of different vegetables, fruits, cereal and now our pediatrician has given the green light for yogurt and meat. The question is how do I deliver these foods. In the past 2 months all food has been pureed and frozen. Which has been extremely easy. Now Liam is getting into finger foods so I have to think....to puree or not to puree...that is the question!
I must also say that I have been extremely lucky that almost anything I put in front of him he will eat. (except kiwi) It doesn't matter how thick, thin, chunky or stringy it is....Liam will eat it! Now that we will be venturing into finger foods I'm going to have to start planning Evan and mine's menu as well. It has been no secret that Liam eats better than anyone in this house! Liam eats first and when my husband asks me what's for dinner? My reply is "I don't know-any canned soup in the pantry?" Funny how once you have a child your priorities change to Baby first, me last.
Hopefully I can find some planning and organization skills hidden within me to start planning meals for all 3 of us! Until then enjoy my pictures of what I made for Liam this week!
Some Baby Cereal Cookies cut into pumpkin shapes!
Liam loves squash! Summer squash, acorn squash, butternut squash-he'll eat it all!
And a picture of my sweet boy!

Fink Family Fun!
Last weekend my whole family showed up in Indianapolis to see my sister Adriane and also to spend some quality family time together! We went to the children's museum, rode the merry go round, ate out with a group of 12, went swimming at the pool and went shopping! It was so much fun to see the cousins playing together; Violet loves her little cousin and Eli kept escaping from his parents to go over to Liam to give him nice hugs and to hold his hand! We had so much fun I wish that we could have had a couple more days together.
Violet, Eli and Liam playing with the dinosaur eggs at the museum!
Liam eating peas in the hotel chair-he thought it was pretty cool not to be in his highchair!
First time on a merry-go-round! He kept looking for Daddy!
We love our Aunt Adriane!
First time in the pool-lots of splashing!
He loved to "jump in"

And he's off!
Liam has been trying to crawl for a couple of weeks now. Going backwards, doing downward facing dog but today..........HE DID IT!
Liam can now crawl! When I picked Liam up from daycare today I was told that he was crawling all over the place, all day long! Once we got home I had to see for myself. Sure enough once I shook those Puffs and rolled them across the floor he was off! And I was a super excited, over the top mommy!
I'm not sure what Butters thinks about this yet. She was giving me a slightly concerned expression as she was watching him crawl across the floor. That could be from Liam's new love of crawling onto Butters or how he also tends to use her to pull himself up to a stand. While I think this is wonderful, Evan and Butters are less enthused. While pulling himself to the stand Liam tends to grab fists full of Butters hair and than try to "eat" her as well. Not sure what the big problem is. :)
One more thing- every time Liam and I come home once we get to the door Liam starts to get really excited and laugh. His excitement only climbs as the door sails open and he sees his dog, wagging her tail and showing us how happy she is that we finally came home. There are times that I know she is not so sure about the baby who has stolen her masters' attention, but those first few minutes of seeing him I can see that she is just as happy to see him as he is to see her.

Daddy Day!
Thursdays are a special day. It's Daddy day. Every Thursday since Liam was born Daddy has been able to stay home with Liam. Well, except for this past summer where Grammy Walles came over-which we loved! Now summer is over and it is again Daddy day.
When I came home from work Evan told me all the wonderful things that Liam had done that day. When Evan went to get him from his crib after his morning nap he was pleasantly surprised by Liam sitting up in his crib. Back against the crib just chillin' out. Later in the afternoon while Liam was playing and Evan was working on the computer he says that Liam started using his toy to pull himself up to a stand from sitting.
Keep in mind I was only gone for 7 and 1/2 hours. How could he have done all these giant milestones while I was away!!!! Now I may be overreacting. Well, ok yes I am overreacting. My baby boy is growing up!
Later that night while I was "helping" Evan lower Liam's crib mattress. I just kept feeling like I was not ready for this giant leap. And so I started arguing with Evan on how low his mattress should go. Notice how I have confessed that it was I who started the fighting. I kept saying "It's too low. I'm not going to be able to reach down and get him. You need to put the mattress back up to the second level. He's not ready for the third level yet." (Or I'm not ready for the third level yet!)
For any of you who know my husband you may know that he is not necessarily a handyman. In fact when he has to do any type of handyman work he usually gets extremely frustrated and may start swearing at ridiculous items such as a wrench or a hammer. So, to say the least my comments were not welcome...at all. Thankfully, my husband surrendered and brought the mattress back up to the safe second level. I felt like I could again breathe normally.
I know that as the days, weeks and months start to add up I cannot and will not be able to stop my little boy from growing up. I know this but yet it is still so hard to accept. Can't I keep him little forever???
I will try to start posting pictures on this here blog but have not yet figured out how to do it. Next time!

Everybody's doing it
I am the type of person that likes to wait on things. And when I say I like to wait I do not mean that I am a necessarily patient person. In fact my husband would very much disagree with my first sentence and so I must explain.
I typically see a fad- such as leggings, or doing the giant pouf in your hair, or maybe writing your own blog-and think that looks really cute and I should do that. But than I think well, its probably just a faze. Leggings will be so out in like a month. (and according to Project Runway leggings are so out now) I think this until I decide I really want to do the giant pouf in my hair and have my husband stare at me like I'm crazy. (which by the way happens very frequently now)
And so I am starting my very own blog. I will not worry that I may not be funny or witty with my remarks. (even though I laugh at my own jokes all the time) I will not be considered that I am using too many parentheses in my writing. (my high school english teachers will not be reading this) I am doing this for my sisters. (Mainly the one that lives half way across the country) Because she keeps asking me to and because I guess she is missing her family. And when I say family, I really mean just me :) Or maybe just Liam :)
So my dear sisters (and other people who may stop by) enjoy hearing about all the crazy things that I do in order to get those crazed looks from my husband. Enjoy my ridiculous stories about my dog and most importantly enjoy my favorite person in the world...Liam. He is the best!
P.S. I will try to cut down my parentheses in future blogs.
