Decision, decisions...

For Christmas Evan bought me a Kitchenaid Mixer. He purchased a white one because he says it was the cheapest one and that was the only color they had. (so sweet) For the last month I have been torn with what I should do with it. Obviously I don't want white and if you know my personality you would think automatically that I would go with a color like this: 

 It's called Pear. Or maybe I should go with Tangerine or Cinnamon Gloss. I love them all and of course the brighter the better. There is an inner voice though whispering to me and saying "Go with something classic like black or silver. In a few years you'll be staring down your Tangerine mixer and thinking I hate this color. I'm such an idiot."

I may be an idiot because I've taken this long to make a decision.

Which Melissa will be the victor? The fun, crazy, bubbly side? Or the practical, sensible and classic side?

I'm giving myself till the end of the week.

He's a mover!

Last weekend Liam starting walking on his own! Currently he takes a couple of steps before he comes crashing down but he squeals with delight when he does fall which is much better than crying. We love that he's developing new skills but I would also say I'm in no hurry for him to get better at it.

As a mother I'm supposed to encourage, help and show Liam how to do things. I think I do all of the above but with walking I'm not really pushing it. I know it's only a matter of time before he starts running instead of walking.  So, lets just say we're gonna take our time. :)

Liam has also been standing next to the chest in our bedroom and trying to put his foot on the top of it. We knew that he was trying to climb onto it so he could get to Butters; who has decided that laying on the bed is the safest spot for her now that Liam thoroughly enjoys "wrestling" with her. Today while I was doing laundry and obviously not paying attention to what he was doing, Liam was completely on top of his plastic bin that holds some of his clothes! He most definitely climbed on top of it and since I wasn't watching him I have no idea how he managed it!

This kid is gonna keep me on my toes!

Fashion Forward Couple

If you all remember in my first post I discussed how I am no longer a fashion forward girl and how I like to wait out the trends. While sisters were in town during the holidays I got to go shopping where I saw this belt:

I also discussed in my first blog how my husband likes to make fun of me. When he saw me wearing this around the house this was his response. So to punish him I made him take this picture with me. Who's laughing now???

Liam's Birthday Party

Liam turns 1 today but we had Liam's birthday party two weeks ago while family was still around.  Fun was had by all but Liam especially loved to open his presents:

Happy Birthday Liam!

Wow! The year has certainly flown by for Evan and myself. We can't believe our beautiful baby boy is 1! Today was celebrated by both Evan and I going into Liam's room to sing Happy Birthday and him just staring at us like we had lost our minds. (Liam may be picking some things up from Evan, who still looks at me like I'm losing my mind)

After the usual routine of the morning Liam and I went to the Children's Discovery Museum in Normal, IL. Grandpa & Grandma Fink got us a membership for the year and today was our first day! Liam crawled around to each exhibit with great curiosity but I think had the most fun crawling over the bridge in the Tot area. Over, over and back again-it's quite possible that he would have crawled over it the entire time we were there. Until I showed him the slide and that got quite a few giggles as well.

Tonight we will continue to celebrate with Evan, presents and probably dancing. Liam really likes to dance to any kind of music as we all know.

We thank God every day for bringing this precious child into our care and pray that he will continue to guide us in becoming great parents!
