or in the English language....BIG.
That is me at 33 weeks. Large, enormous, waddle walker. I know that it is true and so maybe thats why it doesn't bother me when people say:
Geez, you're really big.
Seven weeks left? Really?
Are you sure there isn't more than one in there?
I think you've grown even more since the last time I saw you!
I don't think you're going to make it till June.
These are just a few of the random comments people like to say to me. I am very good at laughing it off because I know that most people have no filter. In fact I am guilty of saying some of these exact things to my sister and my sister-in-law.
My favorite day of the week is Wednesday because for the last 5 weeks I've been filling in at another office. (sarcasm-only due to this topic) So on Wednesday I hear these comments from the other staff members numerous times a day. It's always the same people saying the same things to me week after week. Right now I just laugh them off. It's possible that next week I may not have the same patience that I did at the beginning of March. Maybe I should comment back with, "you're not looking so hot yourself there. Those are some serious bags under your eyes!" or "getting a little wide, eat too many doughnuts this month?" My guess is they wouldn't really appreciate my comments so maybe I should just keep them to myself.
Just so you have proof of how grande I am really getting:

Picking out names
This morning I was discussing different name options with Liam for his little sibling:
M: How about _____? Can you say that name for me?
L: (laughter) No. I don't like that.
Repeat these two sentences about eight times.
M: Well then, what do you think we should call your baby?
L: How about Baby.....Poop! (hysterical laughter)
Hmmmm, not sure how that will look on a resume or a college application but maybe we should add it to the list.

A forgetful bunny
While driving home in the rain Liam and I were discussing random things,
L: Mommy, it's raining, I think I need an umbrella to get inside the house
M: Yes, umbrellas are a very nice thing to have.
L: Do I have an umbrella?
M: (pausing as I remember that I did buy him an umbrella that was supposed to go in his Easter basket that I clearly forgot to give him) Well, maybe, I think the Easter bunny was supposed to put it in your basket but he forgot. He gave it to me last night so that I would give it to you.
L: Ok, we can get it out when we get home.

Yes, it is just a coincidence that he wore his Superman shirt this day |
Easter
Easter is one of my favorite holidays. It usually means spring is here, my favorite church hymns can be sung, and of course family time. This Easter was no exception due to our beautiful weather that we had and my entire family being able to come to Bloomington for the weekend. We had so much fun!
Thanks to my mother who cooked, cleaned and did a bit of gardening for me as well. She truly is amazing! So glad that everyone could come.

Cincinnati!
We did it! We beat my entire family and were the first ones out to visit Adriane in her new city, Cincinnati.
We had an amazing time going to the Cincinnati Pops Concert for kids where we heard Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev. A wonderful production which included some young talented ballet dancers who played the parts of Peter, the Grandfather, the Bird, the Cat, the Duck and the Wolf. Since Adriane works for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra we got awesome seats for free and a behind the scenes tour.
During Liam's nap, Evan and Adriane went to a contemporary art museum while I rested. Afterwards we had dinner with some of Adriane's friends and made them all watch Frozen.
Sunday, due to some chilly weather we headed to the aquarium where we saw sharks, jelly fish, turtles and more sharks. It was awesome!
Thanks for hosting us Aunt Adriane!

Imparting all of his knowledge of jellyfish to Aunt Adriane. That he learned from watching Finding Nemo "Don't touch the tentacles! Only bounce on the top part!" |

Becoming a big boy in a new big boy room
A few weeks ago we purchased Liam's new big boy bed. He was so excited to sleep in his new room and has continued to sleep well even in a different room and bed. We still haven't figured out a dresser for him nor have we really decorated but he is loving all the space that he now has to play.
I even got to try out his new mattress this past weekend due to a certain sister who snores. Evan was gone Saturday night for a boys weekend and one of my sisters, I won't say who, was gracious enough to stay with us while he was gone, making the weekend go by so much faster and with zero tantrums. I allowed her to sleep in our bed but told her that I would be kicking her every time she woke me up. Since she pretty much passed out as soon as her head hit the pillow and I was still awake, within the first 10 minutes I had to nudge her oh so gently due to her already present snoring, I figured out that this sleeping arrangement was not going to work through the night. Since sleeping on the couch with the dog didn't sound like the best option I decided instead to kick Liam out of his bed and make him sleep on the floor.
I am such a nice mother.
About one am I felt a tap on my shoulder with a little voice asking, "Mommy, why you sleeping in my bed?" To which I had to explain that a certain aunt was in my bed and that he was having a campout. He luckily bought it and didn't kick me out of his bed and went back to sleep on the floor. Thank goodness!

P is for....
I am fully aware that I have little patience. With this pregnancy I have zero patience. I am also fully aware that I have a 3 year old who needs lots of patience.
Today has been a trying day for the both of us. While convincing myself that it's ok if we sit and watch PBS for a couple extra shows than normal because I'm 31 weeks pregnant and am allowed to sit on the couch and rest, I decided that we should get up and go sit at the table where I wanted Liam to show me how he writes his name.
L: 'No! I don't want to write my name!'
M: 'I don't care what you want to do, that's what we're doing. (sigh, as I remember my lack of patience) Ok, if you don't want to write your name we could do your preschool letter book.'
L: 'Yes! I want to do that!'
After getting in trouble because he wanted to use a marker instead of crayons to circle the objects that start with M and P, and was "accidentally" writing on the table and all over his clothes....
L: 'I don't want to do this anymore!' through tears and screaming, 'I want to go in the playroom!'
M: ' I would like us to finish this page and then you may go into the living room and play.'
L: 'No! I don't want to do that!'
M: 'Ok, fine you can go to timeout because of how POOR your attitude is, which by the way also starts with the letter P!'
And coincidentally for me, so does the word patience.
