God's love

This past school year I have been blessed to be one of Liam's teachers in his Sunday school class. The class ranges from 2-5 year olds. I have really enjoyed helping teach the class. One really great thing is that I get to be a part of Liam's learning about the Bible and God. This past month our theme has been about God's love. We have taught the kids that they can love God and they can love people. By loving people they will show God's love.

So, this past Sunday after church I picked up the kids from the activity center and was told that Caroline may be tired as she had already had two meltdowns in the last hour. While walking out to the car Caroline fell and scraped both of her knees. Meltdown number three began. As I was getting her in her carseat Liam and I asked her if she would like a Band-Aid when we got home. She assured us that she did.

Once we were home we went up to find the band-aids and Liam was being very helpful by trying to find the right kind of Band-Aid that Caroline wanted. Because we can't have just one kind of Band-Aid that would be ridiculous. We have Sofia the First band-aids, TMNT band-aids, Avenger band-aids and a few Sesame Street leftover from when Liam was 2. Once the appropriate Band-Aid was chosen Liam began to open it up and put it on Caroline's knee.

Did I forget to mention during this whole Band-Aid debacle Caroline was crying??? Meltdown number four.

So, Liam gets close to Caroline's knee and is very sweet telling her that everything will feel better once her Ernie Band-aid is on; Caroline screams and cries louder and pushes Liam's hand away and then they repeat this maddening cycle. Because even though Caroline likes the idea of a Band-Aid she does not like the way it feels on her skin. So this cycle repeats at least four more times before Liam gets frustrated and says,
"Caroline! I am trying to show you God's love!!!!"

I couldn't help but laugh out loud. He was trying so hard to apply what he had just learned and Caroline was ruining his good intentions. We never did get the Band-Aid on her knee. Although once we got some food in her belly she was much, much happier.

Lucky

These are the moments that I want to remember. The uncontrollable laughter, the fun and love that these two share. They warm my heart every day. I am so lucky.

Almost 2

Caroline is currently 22 months old and oh man can we tell.

Crying over her cereal

Being carried on our walk because she lost her privilege to be in the wagon.
Why you ask?
Because she was stepping on her big brother's feet as hard as she could.

In time out for biting Liam. Or hitting him. Or pulling his hair. Or pinching him. Who knows...

She's a feisty one!

Easter

So yes Easter was three Sundays ago. And yes I just am now putting my pictures on my computer. Enjoy!

He chose his Snowman shirt to wear Easter morning
because he said it looked like they were juggling eggs.

She loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse right now!
Minnie was in her basket.

A picture where both kids are smiling.
Yes her eyes are shut and yes this is the best I could do.

One of my favorites
We had a great time with all of our family the entire weekend. We were also able to attend Grandpa Walles' church in Carlock where during the children's moment the kids were asked why Jesus was no longer in the tomb? Liam chimed in, "HE ESCAPED!"
But I truly do love how Liam is understanding more and more of God's love and the Easter message. It's really fun to talk to him about Jesus and the amazing things he does.
