Weekend fun

This past weekend was so amazing! My family got together to celebrate my nephew Eli's 3rd birthday and what a fabulous weekend it was!

Reasons why this weekend was so wonderful:

1. My sister Adriane flew home for the weekend from D.C.
2. My sister Emily (and maybe Dad) arranged for my Grandma Davidson to come all the way from Iowa! We were all so shocked and surprised when Grandma stepped out of Emily's car.
3.  Liam loves playing with his cousins, Violet and Eli, and we all love watching them play so well together.
4. Getting to spend time as an entire family playing games, eating and just laughing together.
5. Watching my mother's face upon seeing Adriane and Grandma, as she did not know that either were coming for the whole weekend.
6. Spending the night in the new hotel with just my sisters.
7. Evan coming in last while playing "Children's Bible Trivia" (he usually always wins)

Of course, I have one story that will make you laugh: While the adults were in the living room talking, the kids were upstairs playing together. I decided that I would go check on them and boy was I surprised when I found all 3 kids in the crib!  I somehow managed to ask how they had all climbed into the crib. Violet immediately volunteered her information that she was able to climb in with no problem. So, I asked how Liam had climbed in to the crib. To which Eli told me that Violet was pulling him up from the crib while I pushed up from the bottom! Oh my goodness I can picture it now! What a sight that would have been, but as the responsible parent I told them that they must call for help when they were ready to get out. Violet replied that she did not need help, "See Aunt Melissa? I'll show you right now how I can get in and out of the crib so easily!" No thanks Violet, that is not necessary, you had better call me when Liam is ready to get out, as his legs are definitely not as long as yours.

One thing is for sure, at least we have a little while before the kids become silent and point fingers at each other for their wrongdoings, at the moment they are enthusiastically confessing their sins.
