Summer Part I

Now that school has officially began, let's look back at our summer and all of the fun trips we experienced:

First up, to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, is Charleston South Carolina. Evan and I made this trip alone, driving all 14-15 hours to get to our destination and then spending 3 nights at a wonderful B&B called The Governor's House Inn. We had the Middleton Suite on the 2nd floor with our own porch to enjoy the breezes coming in off the bay. The kids spent equal time with both grandparents and had a blast. Evan and I were able to walk everywhere in the historic downtown part of Charleston. We only got back in the car once to head to Savannah, Georgia to meet up with my childhood friend Nicole and her family for an afternoon and evening of ghost tours. Charleston was an amazing trip that we both really enjoyed with some fabulous food at every restaurant we walked into.

Here's some pictures of that trip:

A little French cafe where we ate breakfast every morning

We followed an alleyway and stumbled upon this graveyard behind an old church, the Spanish Moss hanging from the trees was really interesting

Our ghost tour guide told us some interesting Civil War uses for this now hotel in downtown Savannah
